Summer Staff Opportunities!
The Ironwood Springs Christian Ranch (ISCR) summer staff is comprised of approximately 45 select Christian men and women. ISCR is committed to serving over 20,000 guests per year. In order to accomplish this, the staff needs to have a willingness to commit themselves to excellence in their own personal standard, devotional, and work habits. We are looking for leaders who are willing to work hard and enjoy working with and for people, and most importantly want to grow in Christ by serving others.

Qualifications:

1. A personal commitment to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, and a willingness to be changed by Him.
2. Belief in and willingness to serve God’s will for the camp and nurture a closer relationship with Him.
3. To be considered for a counselor position, applicants should have completed high school and be at least 18 years of age by June 1st.  To be considered for a counselor position at teen camp, applicants should be at least 20 years of age by June 1st.
4. If applying to be a Junior Staff member you must be 15 by June 1st.
5. Good health, to be able to thrive on vigorous, activity filled weeks.
6. A willingness to be guided by such schedules and regulations as are established for daily work, group living, and personal conduct. Willingness to assist wherever and whenever needed.
    

Jobs:

We hire several types of staff for the summer, so we are sure to have what you are looking for. We accept full-time, part-time, and weekly personnel to come and work or volunteer at Ironwood. Our camps run Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. We try as best we can to accommodate time off requests and other commitments (example: back to school in August, school still in June, etc.). We are looking for qualified individuals to help in our kitchen, counseling in cabins, be on program staff, work with our horses, and be a part of our mintenance/cleaning staff. The application process begins February 1.  Our goal is to have all summer staff hired by May 1. 


PROGRAM STAFF

Assistant Program Director: Paid Position (All Summer)

The Assistant Program Director helps to design and direct all camp wide activities. Responsibilities include leading Bible studies, coordinating summer staff, running canteen, planning summer camps, among others. Applicants should be creative, comfortable in front of large groups, hard working, and be at least 21 years of age.

Activities Director: Paid Position (All Summer)

The Activities Director is directly responsible for running all camp games for the summer. They help design and direct camp activities, lead mail call, and coordinate our archery center. This person is also responsible for the care and upkeep of all sports equipment and facilities, leading afternoon free time tournaments, and assisting the other program staff. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age (some exceptions apply).

Head Male Cabin Counselor: Paid Position (All Summer)

Head male counselors help supervise and support other counseling staff. They must be able to handle difficult situations, discipline problems, and homesickness among others. Applicants should be creative, have good decision making skills, easy to get along with, and have previous counseling experience (some exceptions apply).

Head Female Cabin Counselor: Paid Position (All Summer)

Head female counselors help supervise and support other counseling staff. They must be able to handle difficult situations, discipline problems, and homesickness among others. Applicants should be creative, have good decision making skills, easy to get along with, and have previous counseling experience (some exceptions apply).

Video/Photo/Audio Tech: Paid Position (All Summer)

Video/Photo/Audio Tech person is directly responsible for videotaping and photographing camp activities, helping with basic video editing, selling of camp DVD’s and pictures, and helping with sound system during chapel services and other special events at camp. They should be responsible, with creative and new idea’s for pictures and DVD’s, and at least 18 years of age (some exceptions apply).

Arts & Crafts Coordinator: Paid Position (Part of Summer)

Coordinator directs and runs the crafts for the summer at Ironwood. They are responsible for planning crafts, purchasing crafts, teaching classes and managing the craft area. Applicants should be creative with a variety of ideas and craft skills.

Male and Female Staff: Volunteer (Part of Summer)

A cabin counselor is responsible for the day and night supervision in a cabin of 6-10 campers. Counseling is one of the most physically and emotionally demanding positions at camp, but it is also one of the most rewarding. People who apply for this position should enjoy children and youth, and wants to help them grow. They should be at least out of high-school, and one year removed to work teen camp (some exceptions apply). 

           

Support Staff

Wrangler Position: Paid Position (All Summer)

Wranglers are responsible for all aspects of the horsemanship program. This includes teaching classes, leading trail rides, caring for horses and equipment, and handling of horses during special activities among others. Applicants should have solid horse riding skills, be good in dealing with and working with others, and hard working. The wranglers assist the Head Wrangler. Kitchen Staff: Volunteer

The cooks help prepare food for more than 1000 people during the summer months. They are responsible for over all appearance of the dining hall, preparation and serving of the food, and cleaning when the meals are done. They should be responsible, have good inter personal skills , and be hard working. Applicants should be at least 16 (some exceptions).

Junior Staff (cabin and wranglers) Volunteer 

We are changing our junior counseling and wrangler programs once again this summer and combining the two to create a new Junior Staff Position. Junior staff will work directly under the Program Director, and help counselors in cabins. Those who wish to help with our horse program will spend the morning and afternoon rotations at the barn assisting our wrangler staff in their activities, and then spend the remaining time assisting cabin and program staff. Applicants should be at least going into 10th grade.
