Ironwood Springs "Volunteer of the Month"

Award Information: Ironwood depends on volunteers to keep our projects going and keeping our costs down for groups to come and use our facilities.  Each and every volunteer or group of volunteers are appreciated immensely, and each month we will be giving a group or an individual the "Volunteer of the Month."  We could never repay those who volunteer their time here at Ironwood, but we hope that this will help share our appreciation for what is done here!

Month: October, 2011

Group Name: Hope Summit Youth Group (Youth Leader Todd Looney)

Background: Hope Summit Youth Group in Rochester came out to do a retreat at our facility using the cabins and the Oak Room/Tree House combination.  They decided to use some of their time to help us with our Annual "Lumberjack" Day.  They cut, sawed, sorted, and stacked all morning, and blessed us with some of our best Lumberjack work in recent history!  They have great leaders serving them, and are a great group of students!

What they did:  The youth group helped with the Lumberjack Days, and were a great group to have at Ironwood!

Background: Jim works for the Zumbrota Education District and was excited to work at Ironwood for the remaining weeks he had in the summer. 

What they did: Jim helped paint, build, dig, whatever we needed his help with!  Thank you Jim!
