Bob's Inspirational Video
Bob was injured in 1973 in a heavy construction accident, which left him as a T12 paraplegic. But Bob's faith kept him going and and through it all, his vision of starting a youth camp ranch never waivered. He went on to start Ironwood Springs Christian Ranch in 1976, which today not only serves youth but people with physical or cognitive disabilities and military families. As a motivational speaker for the past 30 years, Bob has left an impact on thousands of people nationwide. One of his presentations, "It's not what happens to you, it's what you do about it" is an example of how he gets his message across. He's a counselor, coach and author. Bob's accomplishments are evidence of that he walks the talk.
  • Founder of National Wheelchair Sports Camp
  • Co-founder of Operation Welcome Home for military families
  • Competed in over 100 wheelchair marathons
  • Author of two books: "Marathons of Life" and recently published "15,565 Extra Days and Counting"

In 1996 I published my first book called "The Marathons of Life", which seems to have an impact to this day.  My second book is an update of my adventurous life in the past 20+ years.  The 16,565 extra days and counting is the number of days since my accident to when I sent the book off to the publishers. The first part of the book is divided into 4 sections.  Personal, Family, disabilities, and the Ranch.  The latter chapters include: Stories I Can't Leave Out, 31 Miracle Stories, Unexpected Honors, and Hope for Our Nation.

It is a story of a crushing accident, starting over, dreaming big, being a victor rather than a victim, raising triplets plus 1, completing 100 marathons, and building a 5 million dollar Miracle Lodge.  The purpose in writing this book is to give heart and hope to all the readers.  Tubby Smith opens the book with an awesome forward.

The cost is $20.  Proceeds benefit Ironwood Springs Christian Ranch.  You can email Bob Bardwell or call him at 507-358-9144 to get your copy or buy one at the Ironwood Springs gift shop.
