Snow Tubing

Our Snow Tube Hill is closed for the season (as of February 24, 2025)!

Enjoy winter by experiencing our snow tubing.  We provide the snow tubes for you.  Ride down one of three different hills depending on what type of ride you want.  Other outdoor games and activities are available as part of your snow tubing experience.  Sleigh Rides may be available during some sessions    You can find our Open Sleigh ride schedule here.


You can find open sessions and register online in the calendar shown below, but if you want to register as a larger group, you can call our office at 507-533-4315 or email office@ironwoodsprings.com . 


A rope pull is provided on the hill to make it easier to return to the top of the hill.  A maximum of 80 riders are allowed on the hill.


Beverages/Food: We have a warming chalet to get out of the elements.  You can bring food and non-alcoholic beverages to snow tubing (no alcohol is allowed on-site).  We also provide hot water and cups if you want to bring hot drink mixes such as cocoa or cider. 


Cost: $15 /person for a 2-hour session


Fun for All Ages

We allow riders of all ages on the hill but recommend that parents ride together for kids younger than 5 years old.  Kids 3 years old and younger are allowed to tube for free.

Open vs. Private Sessions: 

During an open session, the hill is shared with other guests. Private reservations require a minimum payment for 40 people on non-weekend sessions. Private reservations on Friday night and Saturday and Sunday  require a minimum payment for 60 people.


Other Policies: 


Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your session start time. to check in and receive safety instructions.  Snow tubing is at your own risk. All participants must sign a liability waiver; a parent/guardian signature is required for children under 18.   Electronic waivers will be required for all groups less than 20 people.  You will receive a link to the electronic waiver in your confirmation email.  You must do a waiver for each person.  For groups over 20 people, you download a waiver form here.

Snow Tubing Booking Schedule

Zip Line
Come experience "soaring" in a whole new way! Zip-lining has fast become one of the favorite activities at Ironwood. We have two 400 foot zip lines that span across the Root River and end on the other side in the woods. It is a seasonal activity so it is essentially open from March/April until September/October. For safety of the riders as well as staff and the equipment, riders must be at least 35 pounds but no more than 250 pounds, and properly fit into the harness. This will be strictly enforced. 
**This activity requires certified trained staff and must be booked in advance of your retreat.

Cost:
  • $200 per hour (approximately 30 rides)

Adaptive Zip Line
We offer a zip line for experience for individuals with cognitive and physical challenges! It is a seasonal activity so it is essentially open from March/April until September/October. For safety of the riders as well as staff and the equipment, riders must be at least 35 pounds but no more than 250 pounds, and properly fit into the harness. This will be strictly enforced. 
**This activity requires certified trained staff and must be booked in advance of your retreat or arrival.

  • $200 per hour (approximately 20 rides)

Take your turn at shooting targets, balloons, or other objects in the range.

Sling Shot
The Sling Shot Range was created by a youth group on a missions trip from Chalmers, Indiana. It is perfect for small groups looking for an activity on an afternoon, or for a large group to use with a rotation. We have wrist rocket sling shots and safety glasses.

  • $50 per hour (minimum age 5).

Archery
Take your turn at shooting targets, balloons, or other objects in the range. Compound bows with bullet type arrows are used.

Mini Golf
Come to Ironwood to play mini golf. Better yet, bring your group or family to play. The course is completely accessible.

Challenge Course
The Challenge Course is a perfect activity for any type of group for team building, or just a fun activity to do. The Challenge Course allows participants to experience mental and physical success and recognize that the seemingly impossible or difficult is often quite possible, especially working as a team. It is a way to teach teamwork, trust, and life skills in a powerful hands on approach. The purpose is to increase participants' self -confidence, mutual support within a group, and a gentle reminder about others. We promote safety with this activity requiring certified trained Ironwood Staff to walk the group through the exercises. We have a total of 17 low element challenges: Singing Platforms, Ragin' River, Electric Corral, Wild Wave, The "Wall", Jungle Rope Swing, Broken Bridge, and the Spider Web and many more.

**This activity is good for any age, though small children or physically handicapped are not recommended but neither declined.

Cost:
  • $125 per hour
  • Minimum of 10 participants in group
  • For the safety of participants, please wear sturdy shoes. Gloves may be desired on some elements, but not required

Bouldering Wall
Located indoors at our Rec Center building. No harness required because your feet only get 4-5 feet in the air. Instead of climbing up, you climb across. Safety mats are below on floor.

  • Minimum of 10 participants in group
  • Age 5 and up

Chuckwagon Experience
Come 'n' git it! Sample hearty cowboy cuisine after taking a trail ride or a tractor wagon ride to Ironwood's chuckwagon site along the Root River! You can expect to find ranch hands sautéing and stirring your meal in cast-iron skillets over an open flame. All ages welcome! Contact the office to book your chuckwagon experience today!

Site: Heehaw! The Chuckwagon at Ironwood is an adventure you do not want to miss! Our chuckwagon experience is nestled in the backwoods of Ironwood along the banks of the Root River. 

Food: The dinner bell is ringing! Ranch hands prepare a hearty cowboy cuisine dinner and delicious cobbler! Contact the office to reserve your chuckwagon experience today. 

Getting There: Groups will be taken to the chuckwagon site by tractor drawn wagons. Looking for a more authentic western experience? Schedule a horse drawn wagon ride (group of 20 or less in a wagon at one time) or a trail ride. 

Chuckwagon Season: Chuckwagon experiences can be booked in warmer season months, typically May through September. Trail ride and horse drawn wagon rides should be scheduled well in advance to allow draft horse/equine staff availability.

Cost:
  • $20 per person (minimum of 20 people, maximum of 60) with a tractor drawn wagon ride
  • $30 per person (minimum of 16 people, maximum of 40) with a horse drawn wagon ride

Swimming
Ironwood has a seasonal outdoor pool with spacious walk area and seating. No lifeguard on duty. Swimmers under the age of 15 must be accompanied by someone 15 years of age or older. We ask that females wear a one piece suit, or wear a t-shirt or coverup.

  • FREE of charge to guests staying over night at our facilities

Slip 'n Slide
Race down the slip-n-slide on tubes this summer!

Tractor-Drawn Wagon Ride
Enjoy a scenic ride around the Ironwood Springs property through the woods and along the Root River.  A visit to our animal farm is usually one of the stops on the ride.  

Cost: 
  • $150 per hour except for after 5pm or on Sunday when it is $175 per hour
Capacity: Our wagons carry 20 people per wagon and a maximum of two wagons hooked together (40 people total).
