Beginner Horse Day Camp

A horse intense beginner day camp for youth ages 8-12. This camp is for beginner and novice riders. The program runs from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. 

Campers will not only learn about horses but will also learn how horses think and how horses can teach the camper. Having fun and being safe while leading, saddling and riding a horse are a top priority.  The day will include devotions around the campfire, along with a trail ride and other fun activities Ironwood Springs has to offer.   Riders must weigh 225# or less.  Lunch and a snack are provided each day.

The week ends with a closing program for parents and family at 2:30pm on Friday.

Camp Cost: $350 

Campers will receive a digital picture of themselves with the horse they rode during camp, and a certificate.

Note:
  • There are 2 levels of Beginner Horse Day Camp. Each level is designed to match your camper's current proficiency and allow them to master certain skills before advancing to the next level. Upon completion of each level, campers will receive a certificate detailing the skills they have learned.   • We will allow a grace period of 15 minutes for drop off and pick up times. If drop-off or pick-up time exceeds 15 minutes, your account will be charged the early drop off or pickup fee of $25 for the week.

Intermediate Horse Day Camp
Campers Ages 10-16

A horse intense intermediate wrangler day camp for youth ages 10-16. This camp is for intermediate riders. The program runs from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.   Lunch and a snack are provided each day.

Campers will take the skills learned in beginner camp and add to it topics such as balance and feet placement, leads and loping, bareback riding and learning the jumping basics. The day will include devotions around the campfire, along with a trail ride and other fun activities Ironwood Springs has to offer. Riders must weigh 225# or less.

The week ends with a closing program for parents and family at 2:30pm on Friday.

Camp Cost: $380

Advanced Horse Day Camp
Campers Ages 12-18

Advanced rider camp is a day camp and will check list a camper’s horse skill set throughout the experience to ensure safety and fun. Throughout this horsemanship experience, campers will learn how God created horses so they can learn more about themselves! Through groundwork and riding, campers will learn how feel, timing and balance play an important role in our communication with horses and people. 

Riders must be able to walk, trot and lope comfortably and weigh 225# or less. This is NOT a course for first time riders.

The day will include devotions around the campfire, along with a trail ride and other fun activities Ironwood Springs has to offer. 

The week ends with a closing program for parents and family at 2:30pm on Friday.

The program runs from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.   Lunch is provided each day along with a snack.

Overnight Camp
Campers Ages 10-18
July 1-3
 2024
This three-day, horse intense, overnight camp is for riders who have skills at Intermediate Level 2 and above (please reference skills list) and is for youth ages 10-18.
Throughout this horsemanship experience, campers can learn and grow using one of Ironwood's amazing steeds. They will be taught  communication techniques with their horse that can result in a strong bond built from timing, tending and trust.   

Riders must be able to walk and trot comfortably as well as catch, halter and groom independently, all riders must weigh 225# or less.

This is NOT a camp for first time riders, 
must have passed Intermediate level 1.

There will NOT be a closing program for this camp. 
Meet and greet will start at 3pm Saturday.

Meals are provided Monday lunch through Wednesday lunch. Campers will stay in either the dorms or the cabins which are airconditioned and must provide their own bedding (sleeping bag and pillow recommended) and towels.

Camp Cost: $380
